History

Experience the history and heart of Swan River through its beloved Agricultural Exhibition, a tradition that has been cherished by the community for over a century. The first exhibition, held in 1902 and hosted by The Swan River Valley Agricultural Society (SRVAS), served as a platform for agricultural education and showcased the latest farming machinery.

Over the years, this cherished event has grown and evolved with the changing times and interests of the community, becoming a fair and ultimately transforming into the Northwest Round Up and Exhibition in 1956. The Round Up was initially created to put Swan River on the map, and after three years of operation by the Chamber of Commerce, the SRVAS and the Northwest Round Up decided to combine forces and host the spectacular event we know and love today.

Every summer, during the last weekend of July, this beloved event continues to unite and inspire the community, celebrating the rich history and heritage of the prairies through an unforgettable showcase of agriculture, entertainment, and Western culture.
